Error Card: While searching through the base cards I pulled, I noticed the Justin Gage base card #299 had a different logo than it should have. As an avid Bears fan, I knew Gage was still suiting up in the orange and blue and was not a Dolphin, as the card suggests. Although all the information on the card's back suggests he's a Bear, the front Dolphin logo suggests otherwise.
Final Thoughts: Although I didn't pull a game used or autograph card, I still really enjoyed opening this product. Retro products have always appealed to me and this year's Topps Heritage Football is no exception. I always find retro cards interesting and usually manage to learn something new. For example, because of the Art Donovan Flashbacks insert, I learned of the one-year wonder known as the Dallas Texans. In '51 the Baltimore Colts moved to New York and to Dallas the following season as the Texans before returning back to Baltimore in '53.
I thought this year's Topps Heritage Football is a solid product, nothing spectacular, but at the same time, not a waste of money. It would have been nice to pull a refractor, game used, or autograph card but one unlucky box doesn't warrant a poor evaluation of the product as a whole.
Best Pull: Vince Young Rookie Card #320

VY deserves much of the credit given for the Titans surprising resurrection...this resurrection was highlighted by a 20-17 Titans upset over the 1st place Colts over the weekend in which Vince threw for 2 touchdowns. Needless to say, this proven winner isn't playing like a rook anymore. AI Product Rating: |
